Vision

Is it possible to eliminate abject poverty, give hope to those born with less, and providing solace to the lonely? How do we all come together in times of needs like the current Covid-19 pandemic? These are big dreams. But we in Kebun Baru believe in these worthy endeavours.

Kebun Baru is a good representative of Singapore. We have the needy. We have several hundred young families living in need, as well as seniors living without the support of their children. At the same time, we also have many generous hearts who have stepped forward to serve.

We have youth mentors who believe that poverty must not be an obstacle for learning, and that learning can free one from poverty. We have befrienders who provide companionship to our seniors, as they go through the autumn of their lives.

We have social work volunteers who visit and assist families in financial and medical distress. We have community leaders who assist former prisoners to re-integrate into society. We have dedicated individuals who believe in moral engagement, and who actively shape the values of our community for the better.

In short, we in Kebun Baru believe that society is measured not by our individual prosperity or success, but how well our society empowers and uplifts those who are left behind.

That is why we established Hope Collective, a network of programmes and volunteers seeking to build a better Kebun Baru. We are constantly sourcing for new ideas, passion and energy. If you would like to contribute, please let us know.

Every help counts.
